Birchmeier backpacks are often a heavily used piece of equipment by technicians. To help ensure your sprayer’s long life, we recommend annual maintenance of the Birchmeier spray valve. We offer a pre-assembled valve repair kit for the Birchmeier spray valve that contains all the things you need to change out your spray valve. 

This kit contains the strainer, or filter, that goes in the handle. It also includes the steel valve that shuts the flow of material off and on, the packing that helps the valve shut off the flow as well as all of the O‑rings and gaskets.

For landscapers we also carry the kit with Viton gaskets that will last longer against the herbicide products. 

Keep one of these valve repair kits on hand in case your backpack starts to leak. Preferably change everything before it starts to leak but it’s always a good idea to keep a repair kit on hand. When you do preventative maintenance on your Birchmeier backpack, you’ll get many years of use from it.

Andrew Greess: Hi, this is Andrew Greess at Quality Equipment, qspray.com. Today I want to talk about preventative maintenance on your Birchmeier backpack. What I want to talk today about is the repair kit for the Birchmeier spray valve. This brass spray gun right here is the Birchmeier spray valve, and this is the repair kit to repair that valve.

We recommend you do this about once a year. This kit contains a number of important items. It contains the strainer, or filter, that goes in the handle. It contains the steel valve that shuts the flow of material off and on. It contains the packing that helps the valve shut off the flow. It contains all the O‑rings and gaskets that go in this valve.

Recommend, as I mentioned, once a year, change it out. Some people might get 8 months, some people might get 12 or 16 months. But you want to keep an eye on it, and once it starts to leak, or even before it starts to leak, get the Birchmeier valve repair kit so you don’t have chemical all over your hands and all over the customer’s house.
